PhiScalp Micropigmentation can be your next step toward having a head full of hair. If you have balding spots in certain areas or your entire scalp, then the scalp micropigmentation can provide the perfect hair camouflage to enhance the appearance of your hair.
But as you may already know, hair loss is not the only reason to get the scalp micropigmentation procedure, many get SMP done to cover up accidental or surgical scars on the scalp or the face. Most of which are scars caused from having done a surgical hair transplant procedure, a widely popular procedure that thousands of hair loss patients undergo each year. However, you must be aware of the downside of getting a surgical hair transplant, which is the scarring. Scarring can be as minor as a follicle-sized scar in the donor area or as severe as a full-width scar on the back of the scalp. Whether you are planning to get a hair transplant or have already done it, scalp micropigmentation should be your next step in finishing your final look. Below is a list of conditions in which SMP is recommended for:
- Hair Loss & Alopecia
- A receding hairline
- Male pattern baldness
- Hair transplant Scars / Surgical Scars
- Scalp deformities
- Hair deformities; thinning hair
- Loss of Hair density
- Undefined hairline
How many sessions are required?
The amount of micropigmentation sections you may require per session depends on your preference as well as the amount of balding spots visible on your scalp.
However for every SMP client, if they have regular or dry skin then they’re going to need a minimum of 2 sessions in order to complete their SMP treatment. On the other hand, clients with oily skin may require up to 4 sessions because their skin does not retain the pigment as effectively, causing the pigments on the scalp to fade quicker.
How long does each session take?
The duration of your SMP appointment usually depends on the number of sections you’re getting treated on your scalp. In our experience, if your artist is professionally trained and experienced, then the session should be approximately around 2-3 hours for a minimum of 2 sections, however, the section division of your scalp also depends on your Artist, different artists may have different measurements per section.
How long does SMP last?
70% of all results depend on the client’s after care maintenance, as long as you take the necessary precautions and follow the After Care to a tea, then you will be guaranteed lasting results for up to 5 years. Scalp Micropigmentation usually lasts 3 to 5 years if you have regular or dry skin and about 3 years if you have oily skin.
How often would you need to come for a touch-up?
SMP touch up depends on the client’s personal needs, scalp conditions can vary per client and results could have different outcomes and last for different amounts of time depending on how your scalp is treated.
If you often shave or use products on your head, chances are that your SMP treatment may fade quicker than usual, or if you have extremely oily skin, or use hair dye often, then you may be susceptible to lower pigment retention rate.
