What Happens to Your Skin When You Get the PhiScalp Treatment

One of the most commonly asked questions clients usually ask is whether the PhiScalp treatment damages the skin on your scalp or if it causes any damages to the existing hair on your head and results in hair loss in the future.

Is PhiScalp treatment damages the skin?

A quick answer to that is, no! The PhiScalp treatment is a procedure in which micropigmentation is used to insert the pigment just below the most external layer of your skin, the epidermis. This is the upper layer of our skin and it is the tough, protective outer layer. When the artist demonstrates the technique of PhiScalp carefully, they can deliver the pigments into the papillary layer of the dermis, which is directly below the epidermis, with minimal damage to the skin.

Another important thing to note, the ink under your skin is not going to affect the roots of your hair. Your existing hair follicles are in the lower epidermis layer of your scalp, but in spite of this, the origins of your hair strands are not going to be damaged during this procedure. In fact, the PhiScalp technique is demonstrated with needles that are perfected by the Phi Academy.

Phi has implemented the correct technique combined with specialized pigments, needles, PMU machines, hygiene equipment, and skin care products for the PhiScalp treatment. This means that the careful execution of the treatment and the products used is absolutely critical to the client’s results.

Client Expectations ~ What to expect

If you are considering having the scalp micropigmentation procedure (SMP) done, you may be wondering what to expect after your first or second session. Clients usually complete their treatments in their initial two/ three sessions, but for more accurate pricing and the amount of treatments required, it is best that you meet your Artist in person for a consultation prior to scheduling your PhiScalp appointment.

Client Expectations ~ What to expect

Clients working with artistic and skilled technicians can expect the final appearance of a closely shaved head. The pigmentation contours your scalp and outlines your natural hairline. The goal is to achieve the perfect scalp full of hair follicles and to minimize areas of baldness. SMP enhances the density in the front, rear, and inside hairlines by strategically placing different pigments while also mimicking the client’s natural hair colour, or any colour the client wants.

It is important to note that, if the client insists on choosing a pigment that is lighter than their hair colour of origin, then the pigments may not look as well-blended. It is important that you trust your Artist’s judgement in choosing the correct pigment to enhance your looks!

PhiScalp treatments must have portfolio on social media

The best way of establishing that trust is to look through your Artist’s experience and portfolio of PhiScalp treatments. Phi Academy’s most professional PhiScalp Masters and Artists would have their artwork on instagram. All PHI certified Artists are assigned a unique logo and number that should appear under each image that is representative of the Artist’s work. This is a strong indicator that the Artist is posting original work without plagiarising the work of others.

Another way to verify if your artist is an official member of the Phi Academy, is to check the Phi World Community website, by searching for your artist’s name and last name, you will be able to find their information, such as their certification level, official instagram, website, phone number, and email address. All of which are ways that you can contact your Artist and request for more information on the treatment. Clients should also expect to receive a personalized treatment that focuses on achieving their unique goals, resulting in a more natural look.
